Easy to Make Speaker Stands |
||||||||||
| I made these stands for a pair of dB61s I built for my mom. Construction is out of 3/4" MDF and 3" ABS pipe. A drawing is at the bottom. | ||||||||||
| You can change the shape of the base and top parts however you want but try to stay with the 3 stacked pieces idea since that's what makes it all fit together nicely. Adjust the length of the ABS pipe to place your speakers at the desired height. | ||||||||||
| Use of a 3 1/2" hole saw makes construction really easy -- the hole is a perfect fit for the 3" ABS. It's worth the investment to buy one because you can also use it for driver cutouts and holes in braces. | ||||||||||
| Use carpenter's glue to glue the MDF parts together and epoxy to hold the pipe in the holes. | ||||||||||
| There's a 1" hole in the top to be able to add sand or other ballast if desired. | ||||||||||
| You can install spikes in the base. The large ones Parts Express sells (Part Number 240-730) are fairly decent. | ||||||||||
| Paint or finish however you like. | ||||||||||
