This is a center channel speaker using the same drivers as the dB616TLC center channel transmission line speaker but in a sealed enclosure. This makes the enclosure much smaller. This is an update. The original enclosure called for an internal volume of 0.42 cu.ft. I have increased this to 0.50 cu.ft. This lowers the Qtc to a value of 0.67 assuming nominal internal stuffing. This enclosure will also work with the RS180S woofers with a Qtc of 0.70. Modifying a dB616C to become a 717C could be done with an add-on baffle to accomodate the larger woofers and smaller tweeter.

The crossover is identical to the crossover which was optimized for the dB616TLC. Baffle dimensions for this speaker for this speaker are slightly smaller, but the difference will be minimal. The tweeter is also placed higher on the baffle with the woofers moved inward to create a near equilateral triangle. This will tend to improve the off axis midrange droop which is about 6 dB in the TLC.
Basically, simple construction with just a 1" dowel bracing the baffles. 3/4" MDF. I made the front and rear baffles and ends 1/8" oversize in each dimension to allow trimming with a router trimming bit.  There is a 1" dowel brace between the front and rear baffles.
